A Weekend of Firsts!

This past weekend, we went on our first road trip as a family of 3! We went to visit Steve's parents on lake Conroe and had a great time. Cambry did wonderful on her first long car ride. She slept the entire way with one stop for a feeding. I will say packing for a baby requires a lot of planning and baby gear, but we managed to bring everything we needed (and a little more).

While we were there Cambry got to meet her cousin Clayton. He is 5 years old and was so sweet and gentle towards her. He was hoping she would be able to jump in the water with him at the pool, but he soon realized she was a bit too small for that after they met. :)

Cambry got to experience her first swim, too! It's a little tricky going to the pool with a 7 week old as they can't wear sunscreen yet or be in the sun, but we managed! YaYa and Poppy had a big golf umbrella and a couple of floats we rigged to keep her comfortable in the water. She loved the water and took a nice little nap on her raft in the pool.

And the most exciting first for us was that she slept through the night for the first time on Saturday night! She slept from 10:30pm-7:30am. We couldn't believe it! Previously, she had been making in anywhere from 5-6 hours at night. We thought it must just have been a different atmosphere or something, but then she did it again last night! Way to go, Cambry! Hopefully that little trend will continue. :)

Ready for the pool!

Cambry must be thinking: "This is the life!"

What a fun day at the pool!

That is great that Cambry is sleeping so well. Sadly, Alli has not started that trend yet! One day... one day :)
